Natural Light Tubular Skylights Are Highly Energy Efficient
Committed to achieving superior performance in our products and energy savings for our customers, Natural Light has developed a new state-of-the art Energy Conservation Kit for the 10", 13" and 18" residential tubular skylight models. The Energy Conservation Kit incorporates 3 thin clear polycarbonate layers installed in the lower end of the light pipe.
Residential Models May Qualify for State or Local Tax Credits
The addition of polycarbonate layers improve the U-factor and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient such that the residential skylights are ENERGY STAR® qualified in all climate zones. They may also be eligible for state of local tax credits.
Natural Light Tubular Skylight Energy Performance Ratings:U-Factor measures the rate of heat transfer and tells you how well the skylight insulates. U-factor values generally range from 0.20 to 1.25 and are measured in Btu/h ft2 °F. The lower the U-factor, the better the skylight insulates. Natural Light produces a tubular skylight model which has a U-Factor of 0.54.
Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) measures the fraction of solar energy transmitted and tells you how well the product blocks heat caused by sunlight. SHGC is measured on a scale of 0 to 1; values typically range from 0.20 to 0.80. The lower the SHGC, the less solar heat the skylight transmits. The Solar Heat Gain for Natural Light is 0.23.
